Vale Mrs Rose Ings

Racing NSW has been informed of the passing of Mrs Rose Ings, wife of trainer Gil Ings, aged 91yo.

Gil was a number one trainer who trained many good gallopers including city winner Clever Fiddle.

Gil worked as stable foreman for Tommy Smith when Tulloch was on the way back from sickness before going to Arthur Ward in the days of the good horse Foresight.

He then branched out on his own and Rose Ings was his right-hand person.

Rose had been in ill-health for some time and is survived by daughter Barbara, son-in-law Ron, and her sister Doreen.
