Warwick Farm To Host Sydney's Biggest New Major Race Day

Warwick Farm racecourse hosts Sydney’s newest major race day this Saturday with more than $4 million in prizemoney to be won on the track and a host of free entertainment options for families.

Inglis Millennium Day features the inaugural running of the $2 million Inglis Millennium for two-year-olds, the $1 million Inglis Sprint for three-year-olds and the Group 2 $200,000 Yarraman Park Breeders Classic.

The Australian Turf Club will celebrate the inaugural day with Inglis and the local Warwick Farm community including:

– Special food markets set up on the lawns overlooking the home straight of the racecourse

– Free children’s activities including face painting, pony rides, petting zoo, jumping castle, and colouring in competitions

– The Longines Golden Slipper trophy will be on display where fans can take their photo with Sydney’s iconic trophy

Champagne Cuddles on her home track for trainer Bjorn Baker is the $2.40 TAB Fixed Odds favourite for the Yarraman Park Breeders Classic, ahead of her stablemate Egyptian Symbol ($5.50 TAB Fixed Odds), who has run second in the race for the past two years.

In the $2 million Inglis Millennium, the Chris Waller stable’s Accession ($3.00 TAB Fixed Odds) has firmed into favourite, just ahead of the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Dawn Passage ($3.10 TAB Fixed Odds).

In the $1 million Inglis Sprint, the reigning Longines Golden Slipper champion Estijaab, for Hawkes Racing and jockey Brenton Avdulla, makes her return to the races for the first time since the world’s richest race for two-year-olds.

She is the $3.60 TAB Fixed Odds second favourite behind Fiesta ($3.40 TAB Fixed Odds), another Chris Waller runner.

Hawkes Racing has a hot favourite in Brutal ($2 TAB Fixed Odds) in the Group 3 $160,000 Aquis Farm Eskimo Prince Stakes.

The Warwick Farm track was rated a Good 4 on Friday afternoon, with a full track report from Warwick Farm Track Manager Mark Jones available here.

Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager Racing Services and Membership James Heddo said Saturday’s meeting offered exciting racing on a full nine-race card.

“The Australian Turf Club is very pleased to put on such a strong meeting for the local community in and around Warwick Farm,” Mr Heddo said.

“Along with great racing, families and children can enjoy a range of free entertainment options all through the afternoon.”

Free public parking inside the racecourse is available from entrances off the Hume Highway, whilst Australian Turf Club Members can enter the new Members Car Park off Governor Macquarie Drive.

A complimentary shuttle service will run from Warwick Farm train station to the racecourse every 20 minutes from 10.00am.

A return service will be available from Warwick Farm Racecourse back to the station commencing at 3.00pm, departing every 20 minutes.
