Veterinary Issue Reported For Surefire (Sydney Cup)

Racing NSW Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr Peter Curl has reported to Racing NSW Stewards that SUREFIRE (GB) was exhibiting near fore foot lameness when subjected to a routine pre-race veterinary examination on Thursday morning.

Trainer Chris Waller has undertaken to keep Stewards informed as to the progress of SUREFIRE over the next 24 hours with a further official veterinary examination to be carried out at an appropriate time to determine the horse’s suitability to take its place in the Schweppes Sydney Cup on Saturday at Royal Randwick.
