Jockey Quotes - The Galaxy

Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 1 $700,000 Furphy Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill Gardens.

Robbie Dolan (Shelby Sixtysix): “Shelby Sixtysix, get him in The Everest. He’s a superstar. Danny Williams - what a training performance that was.

“Racing is swings and roundabouts, you just have to take it on the chin and you know I picked myself off the ground - a lot of people were abusing me the other day after that horse (Profondo) but stuff happens and you just have to go on with it. I'm just very grateful to get on this horse today.

“Danny gave me my first couple of winners in Australia, I used to ride for him a lot down in Goulburn, he’s always been a big supporter of mine. Unbelievable training performance.

“I had a lovely run. Jason’s (Collett) horse (Bella Nipotina) jumped really awkwardly into the gates and sort of took out what I wanted to do; I wanted to cross Jason and be on the fence following Overpass.

“As soon as I clipped him up at the 600m I was so confident I was going to get them. I had a lovely run following Mark’s (Zahra) horse through and he just kept finding, he was solid through the line. The sky's the limit for this horse.”

Josh Parr (Big Parade): “Ah man. That is hard to cop I must say. I was so confident going into today. Landed in a fantastic position. Thought I’d done enough to fight off In The Congo and then damn it.”

Tommy Berry (In The Congo): “Really good with the 56kg. Not beaten far first up off a Golden Rose prep. He’s in for a great prep.”

Jason Collett (Bella Nipotina): “Start proved a bit costly. Was a bit anxious in there.”

Tim Clark (Overpass): “Horse is in terrific form.”

Linda Meech (Away Game): “She was OK without winning.”

James McDonald (Brooklyn Hustle): “I think if she drew a gate she would have won. She was taken back, ripped to the line, handled the track conditions. Looked and felt tremendous.”

Kerrin McEvoy (Isotope): “Just struggled in the ground.”

Rachel King (Paulele): “Good run from a tough barrier.”

Brock Ryan (Rule Of Law): “Really good run. Rode him for luck but nothing eventuated.”

Alysha Collett (Ballistic Lover): “He was playing up in the gates. She was a bit unsettled and hadn’t really been behind them before.”

Kathy O’Hara (Jamaea): “Good run. Probably not as confident on that ground.”
