Jockey Quotes - Skyline Stakes

It wasn't a decisive margin at the finish but Santos came out of the G2 Schweppes Skyline Stakes (1200m) with his reputation largely intact.

Santos toughing it out

Tim Clark (Santos): "He probably just had the edge of him a little bit after such a dominant win first up. I think the three weeks now, leading in to the Slipper, is going to be an ideal little break for him. Things didn’t go exactly to plan but he showed his class.”

Brenton Avdulla (Irish Bet): “Disappointing. He travelled into it but he found nothing.”

Christian Reith (Sandbar): “Good run.”

Glyn Schofield (Legend Of Condor): “Nice effort. Loomed up, just couldn’t get the job done but ran well.”

Kerrin Mcevoy (Spin): “Good run. Just hesitated a little when he went up the inside but he committed well once we got to the 100m.”

Hugh Bowman (Zousain): “Very happy with him. Had to do more work than I would have liked early which took its toll late but a great effort.”

Tye Angland (Oxford Tycoon): “Went well, just doesn’t know how to fully finish off yet.”

All the results and replays for Saturday's Royal Randwick meeting.
