Jockey Quotes - Silver Slipper Stakes

Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the G2 Iron Jack Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill.

James McDonald (Home Affairs): “He’s a beautiful colt. He’s got killer looks and good ability with it. He should be unbeaten to be fair. He was left a sitting shot, needing the run on the soft ground last start. He’s trained on really well. The team has been very happy with him. He is such a beautiful horse. Still learning his craft. Very green, still raw. I think once he puts it all together he’ll be a goodie.”

Hugh Bowman (Paulele): “He was disappointing today.”

Rachel King (Zethus): “Really disappointing. His head just wasn’t in the race today.”

Kathy O'Hara (Rocket Tiger): “A big run from him. He’s a horse on the way up that is for sure.”

Josh Parr (Tiger Of Malay): “He copped a lot of interference. It cost us a lot of ground. One to follow.”

Nash Rawiller (Direct): “I thought it was a good effort first up. Would expect a bit of improvement out of that. Hopefully a better draw.”

Jason Collett (King Of Sparta): “Good run. Copped a bit of interference in the straight. Cost us running third.”

Brenton Avdulla (Dio): “Lovely horse. Had a perfect run but just didn’t let go in the ground at all.”

Andrew Banks (Doola Teela): “Just too quick.”
