Jockey Quotes - Premiere Stakes

Libertini blew her rivals away in the G2 Bisley Workwear Premiere Stakes (1200m), making an Everest statement.

Regan Bayliss (Libertini): “Classique Legend got caught a little bit wide, which probably worked in my favour. When Kerrin slid up to get into the race a little bit I just got on his back and stalked him for as long as I could. One she got off the back she really let down."

"She loves these firmer tracks, I think she is four from four on them, and she’s a top class sprinter. She proved it today.”

James McDonald (Nature Strip): “He will be right in two weeks.”

Kerrin McEvoy (Classique Legend): “Good run. Had to do it a bit tough today. Still on track. Haven’t lost faith in him.”

Rachel King (Deprive): “Huge run. He gave away a lot of ground to good horses and ran them down.”

Nash Rawiller (Standout): “He went good. We did a bit of work early. It was a shame Classique Legend took off a long way from home. He ran okay.”

Jeff Penza (Signore Fox): “He is racing consistent but that tempo coming to the turn put him off the bit and didn’t help his style. Pressure was on early and he was off the bit chasing.”

Blaike McDougall (Lord Von Costa): “He was out of grade but there was nothing wrong with his run. He needed the run for the ‘Kosi’. He peaked at the furlong and will come on a lot from it.”

Brenton Avdulla (Fasika): “I reckon the firm ground is sorting her out at the moment.”
