Jockey Quotes - Ming Dynasty Quality

Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 3 $250,000 Chandon Ming Dynasty Quality (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens.

Rachel King (Sixties): “I think he ran it out strongly. He probably just got a bit lonely at the end.

“He's quite a casual customer and he began well but I had to give him a little squeeze just to let him know what we were doing today. Once he got there, he really relaxed and I felt like through the mid stages, he got a really good breather in.

“I was happy to give him a squeeze just before the corner so I did ask him a question quite early, but I thought this is probably going to be to our advantage and hopefully we could skip away, which he did and held on well at the end.

“I could (hear the second horse coming) and I could hear the caller getting louder so I was worried; I knew it was coming.

“But even if he got run down the last bit, he still probably runs super against a good horse. So to go and beat a horse like that is even better for his profile.”

Jason Collett (Autumn Boy): “Really happy with his return. Jumped clean and comfortable. Got close.”

Chad Schofield (Without Peer): “Really good run. I thought for him to run like that against this company in his first racing preparation is encouraging knowing he will furnish into a beautiful horse.”

Kerrin McEvoy (Grand Prairie): “He has run on really well. We didn’t begin as well as I would have liked and we ended up further back than planned. From the back he has run on. Put his best foot forward the last furlong and a half. A better draw sees him better placed. Improvement to come.”

Nash Rawiller (Providence): “Just didn’t have any tactical speed whatsoever. I’d recommend a set of shades. I tried to be aggressive out of the gates. A bit disappointing.”

Tyler Schiller (Federalist): “I thought his effort was pleasing. It was a tragic barrier for him. He had to concede too much ground. I thought he did a good job late.”

Zac Lloyd (Flying Orchid): “He is a lovely horse. Will appreciate a step up in trip. When the penny drops and gets some head gear he will really switch on.”

Tim Clark (Barbarossa): “Good honest performance.”

Andrew Adkins (San Giovanni): “Lovely run from him. He’s a horse looking for further. Did all the right things. Made good ground especially through the line.”

Dylan Gibbons (Powerhouse): “He did a terrific job. Had a beautiful run. What he did today he will improve on.”

Jay Ford (Tom Vegas): “Went really well. Very raw, very inexperienced. Improved off the other day."
