Jockey Quotes - Light Fingers Stakes

Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick.

Josh Parr (Every Rose): “She is back with a bang. So pleased to see her find form from her 2yo days when she won the Gimcrack here. She had a preparation there where everything went wrong. It’s pleasing to see her back in winning form.

“She is able to be free rolling when she is feeling well. She got here in really good condition. The stable have done a great job. Nice strong tempo and she fatigued late but obviously entitled too on giving ground.”

Jason Collett (Never Talk): “Bit of a checkered path in the straight. Really motored the last 100m.”

Hugh Bowman (Away Game): “Courageous in defeat.”

Robbie Dolan (Elizabeel): “She has come back bigger and stronger. Can go on to bigger things hopefully.”

Rachel King (Love Sensation): “Huge run. She is a really lovely filly in for a good prep.”

Nash Rawiller (Thermosphere): “She was quite OK. Followed the winner all the way and ran along at a genuine tempo. It got her out of her comfort zone earlier than I would have liked. She is better suited over 10 furlongs.”

James McDonald (Hungry Heart): “Just caught a bit wide. Effort was good. Just needed a better run in the race.”

Tim Clark (Vangelic): “She ran well. It didn’t set up well for but raced like 1400m will suit her.”

Regan Bayliss (Philizzy): “Good run I think she wants 1400m now. She finished off well.”

Kathy O'Hara (Nicci's Fling): “Probably just didn’t like that going today and might need to come back a grade.”

Sam Clipperton (Joviality): “Not a bad run. Copped a squeeze at the start. She put in a good sprint from the 400m to the 200m then peaked on the run.”

Brenton Avdulla (Sweet Reply): “She just struggled in the ground.”

Jay Ford (Orpheum): “Talented enough filly but at that level found wanting.”

Kerrin McEvoy (Kahma Lass): “Don’t think she liked the ground so give her the benefit of the doubt. 1400m on top of the ground.”
