Jockey Quotes - Gloaming Stakes

A small field but a very competitive race as the emerging staying three-year-olds did battle. Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 3 Gloaming Stakes (1800m) at Rosehill Gardens.

Tim Clark (Thinkin’ Big): “He is a really nice, imposing young colt. He’s got the presence about him and has a very bright future.

“He’s got a great attitude, a good cruising speed and is a really promising young stayer. If something had of been good enough to challenge him, he still had a fair bit there.”

Thinkin’ Big leads throughout to win the Gloaming Stakes at Rosehill

James McDonald (Tarka): “It was a really good run. He was left a bit flat footed on the corner and just couldn’t peg back the ground. He is probably a Blinker horse.”

Brenton Avdulla (Irukandji): “He ran okay. I let him slide up outside of the speed. I thought he was going to go with the winner but he is a bit of a bull, he doesn’t give me 100%.”

Hugh Bowman (Tavirun): “He was disappointing. I think he got a bit lost the first time this way of going. I wouldn’t be too critical of him.”

Tommy Berry (Panzerfaust): “I got taken out of the race on the corner when Hugh stopped. The race was off and gone by then. I liked the way she hit the line late. She is probably six months away but is a nice filly going forward.”
