Nash Rawiller (Lindermann): “He’s just been a little bit inconclusive on these heavy tracks. To me, for a horse who usually gives his all every time, I thought he’d been a little bit quick to give the game away. Chris took him home, had a great look at him. It wasn’t until Wednesday that I accepted the ride.

“Charlie [Duckworth] said, do you want to ride him? I couldn't not be on him. I've got that much faith in the horse.

“This was his race today on the platter and was special to see him come out and do it.

“He’s the best horse in the race. I knew he wouldn't let me down if he turned up and if he didn't, I would have sat up on 150m and looked after him because he deserves it – he’s been a great horse.”

Lindermann wins the Chelmsford Stakes

Tim Clark (Sir Delius): “Great return. He is a proper horse.”

Adam Hyeronimus (Vauban): “He was brilliant. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the way he handled himself at this distance. The leaders dictated the race on a firm track. When he goes up in distance there will be more pressure in the races he is heading towards. In for a very good campaign.”

Rachel King (Arapaho): “Very pleased with him. Way short of his best. Pleased with his work late.”

Chad Schofield (Ceolwulf): “Couldn’t muster any gate speed. We had a good run. Travelled well and gave a little turn of foot. Just peaked the last bit.’

Kerrin McEvoy (Huetor): “Pleased first up from a little break. Another run or two he will be primed and ready to go.”

James McDonald (Land Legend): “He is just looking for further.”

Dylan Gibbons (Adelaide River): “He is going OK. Just needs to iron a few things out.”

Zac Lloyd (Athabascan): “Good base for him. He will be ready to build off that.”

Tommy Berry (Birdman): “He has a nice race in him this time but it was a leader dominated race. Felt like he was good to the line.”

Jason Collett (Robusto): “Sat outside the lead which was tougher over the mile.”

Tyler Schiller (Full Count Felicia): “I think she has ticked all the boxes there. Just needs the right trip and a softer track.”
