Gear Clarification - Surfers Royale (Kembla & C'bury)
Racing NSW Stewards wish to clarify the gear to be worn by SURFERS ROYALE (trained by Matthew Smith) which has been accepted to race at both Kembla Grange (Tuesday 23rd May) and Canterbury Park (Wednesday 24th May).
A gear change was approved this morning for the horse to carry BLINKERS (first time), however, this gear change will only apply should the gelding race at Canterbury Park where it is an acceptor in Race 3 (No.3).
Should SURFERS ROYALE race at Kembla Grange where it is an acceptor in Race 6 (No.7) then the gear change is not approved for this race meeting and it will continue to race with a LUGGING BIT only.
