Friday Focus - A Snapshot Of Saturday Racing

ROYAL RANDWICK – BEST BET: Race 3 # 4 – ARCTIC GLAMOUR

Went to a new level first-up at Rosehill Gardens and bolted in, producing a career peak figure. She won by a dominant margin, and the race rated exceptionally well relative to the day. The filly was run to suit, but she showed an electric turn of foot and reeled off the meetings quickest 600m/400m/200m splits. Further, she flattened out and went through the line full of energy. All key indicators suggest she can only improve again, and the rise to 1400m is ideal. In addition, she brings the clear best last start figure and expect her to be hard to beat with even luck.

ROSEHILL GARDENS – NEXT BEST: Race 10 # 4 – RENAISSANCE WOMAN

Her run had merit first-up after having factors against her, and she can only improve off that effort. The mare had the race shape against, raced wide and loomed to win, running one of the meeting fastest 400m-200m splits but just peaked on her run over the final furlong. She is unbeaten second-up, receives a significant barrier change, allowing her to have a more economical run, and brings superior form lines to some of her key rivals. Moreover, she has a strong SP profile, including starting favourite last prep in the Group 1 Queensland Oaks (2200m).

ROSEHILL GARDENS – TAB EVEREST PICK: Race 7 # 2 – PRIVATE EYE

He returned well when winning the Group 2, The Shorts (1200m), after racing wide without cover, albeit in a slow pace. The gelding travelled well into it, sprinted the meetings fastest 400m-200m split and maintained a strong finishing speed to score. The anticipated race shape suits Private Eye's sectional profile, where he produces his peak efforts and gets conditions to suit. Moreover, he brings the best last-start figure and can use his adaptability to find a positive position. Each-way.

ROSEHILL GARDENS – SECTIONAL STAR: Race 2 # 19 – SEQUESTERED

After trialling well, she resumed a winner at Rosehill 17 days ago. The Godolphin galloper was well-ridden, but she sprinted hard when asked for a superior effort over the final 200m. Punter's Intelligence recorded she ran one of the quickest final 200m sectionals of the meeting in 11.42 and the rise in trip suits. Additionally, she drops 3.5kg, which will only enhance her key asset in acceleration.

NEWCASTLE – PROVINCIAL PICK: Race 7 # 10 – GODELBA

Is a knockout chance after having no luck on debut at this track. The three-year-old got too far back over the 900m specialist distance and also had the race shape against. To her credit, she built through her gears well and was about to charge through a gap but was chopped out. Further, she should've been in the finish and will have only benefited from that race experience with 1200m suiting.
