ROYAL RANDWICK– BEST BET: Race 10 # 9 – Democracy Manifest

Resumes and trialled well recently at Rosehill in a strong last-section time heat. The four-year-old went through the line full of energy and wasn't extended. He is a proven fresh performer, and isolating his first-up runs/ratings gets him in very well in this event. Joao Moreira, who will get him into a rhythm, rides and the gelding can use his key attribute of acceleration to sprint away from his rivals. He is proven at this track and is adaptable in all conditions.

ROYAL RANDWICK– BEST VALUE: Race 2 # 10 – Darci Diva

Represents value and is coming off a career peak figure last start at Port Macquarie. The mare was suited to sitting outside the leader at a moderate tempo, but she responded well under pressure and pulled away from her rivals late. She is ultra-consistent, maps to have all favours and is proven in a high-pressure 1200m event. Her trainer Paul Shailer is performing above market expectations and has had 20 winners out of his past 100 runners at a profit on turnover of 3.3%.

ROYAL RANDWICK– SECTIONAL STAR: RACE 3 # 5 – Floating

Couldn't build momentum at a critical stage first-up at Warwick Farm but, once a gap appeared, he showed a sharp turn of foot. The gelding savaged the line clocking the fastest final 200m split of the meeting in 11.90 and just missed in a photo finish. He will be fitter for that, the bigger track suits and the last time James McDonald rode he was a dominant winner.

ROYAL RANDWICK– CHAMPAGNE STAKES: Race 7 # 2 - Militarize

Read the runner-by-runner guide HERE.....

Can't go past Militarize, who brings a dominant last-start figure and deserves to be shorter than the current quote. Townsend is the potential big improver and a knockout chance. Don Corleone and Tom Kitten are honest/consistent performers but have no real edge at their current prices.

KEMBLA GRANGE – PROVINCIAL PICK: Race 4 # 8 – Victory Salute

She trialled well before a solid first-up performance at Warwick Farm, where she was specked $12-$10 late in the trade. The filly chased a fast tempo throughout and, to her credit, she never shirked her task to the line. Further, that race rated extremely well relative to the day, the decisive margins throughout confirmed the quality, and there has been a subsequent winner to affirm the form. She has a much more positive race setup in this event and can roll forward from the middle draw. Additionally, she brings the clear best last start figure and, if she improves again, expect her to be hard to hold out.
