Destiny's Kiss Continues His Love For Winter Cup (Rosehill, Sat)

The $150,000 Listed Winter Cup – featuring one of Sydney racing’s most durable and popular gallopers – headlines another strong program at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday.

Destiny’s Kiss, trained at Warwick Farm by Joe Pride and to be ridden by Sam Clipperton, lines up for his fifth Winter Cup in the past seven years on Saturday.

The 10-year-old galloper won the Winter Cup in 2013, and has run third in 2017 and second in 2018 in a 96-start career that has yielded almost $1.5 million in prizemoney.

Destiny’s Kiss is an $18 TAB fixed odds chance on Saturday behind the warm favourite Hush Writer for Royal Randwick trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott and jockey Tim Clark at $2.30.

Hush Writer is looking to win back-to-back 2400m cups at Rosehill Gardens after taking out the $150,000 Listed W J McKell Cup at his previous start.

That double hasn’t been achieved in the same year since 1995 when Grand Connection took out both races.

The Chris Waller-trained High Bridge on his home track with jockey Blaike McDougall is next in betting at $3.80.

Saturday’s meeting at Rosehill Gardens has again seen a number of good-sized fields with 123 acceptors across the nine-race card, including several capacity fields.

The Rosehill Gardens track was rated a Soft 6 on Thursday morning. Gates for Australian Turf Club Members open at 10.15am on Saturday and at 10.30am for general admission ticket holders.

The first race is due to jump at 11.30am with the final event to start at 4.25pm.

Rosehill Gardens features free parking across the racecourse and free entry for all children under the age of 18 when permanently accompanied by a parent or guardian.
