Cepheus (GB) – Report From Trainer Matthew Dunn

Trainer Matthew Dunn has notified Racing NSW Stewards that on Wednesday 18 October 2023 it was noted that Cepheus (GB) had some slight swelling above the near-fore fetlock which prompted its withdrawal from the Filante Handicap at Royal Randwick today, as a precaution.

Mr Dunn advised that subsequent veterinary tests, including x-rays and scans of the horses near-foreleg, had not detected any issues of concern and that Cepheus (GB) had not missed any work.

He further advised that he intends to gallop Cepheus (GB) on Monday 23 October before the horse participates in a barrier trial at Rosehill Gardens on Friday 27 October, following which it will be subject to an official veterinary examination.

A further release will be issued at the appropriate time.
