What You Missed: Royal Randwick

By Brad Gray Dunn And Dusted Keira Dunn, the assistant trainer for Mathew Dunn Racing, confirmed that the Murwillumbah-based stable will have a huge representation in the Anniversary Highway. Bronzed Venom, Cascata Rossa and Dia De Reyes could all back up next week while Dunn said that another seven are likely to make the journey down on Wednesday. “The truck doesn’t leave until Sunday night so depending on how well they pull up tomorrow I’m pretty sure Mathew would like to keep them all here,” Dunn said. “I’m always condiment when Mathew says you are going down to Sydney. He 99.9% of the time makes the right choices.” Sky Is The Limit For Interlocuter

French import Interlocuter was always held in high regard in France and now in his second preparation in Australia, he is starting to deliver. The way this five-year-old lowered himself to find the line when asked to stretch out, indicates he is a horse worth sticking with. “He’s in a different league this horse,” Angland gushed after the race. James Cummings, taking a leaf out of his grandfather’s book, will exercise plenty of patience with the horse suggesting he won’t be tested in black type any time soon. Meanwhile, Godolphin’s unbeaten colt Viridine took out the Group Two Roman Consul Stakes despite doing plenty wrong in the race. Brenton Avdulla quipped, “I’ve never had one pull so hard and keep going.” Viridine is a seriously talented colt. Watch out for him in the Coolmore. Lizzie’s Firsthand Yard Mail Sky Racing’s mounting yard expert Lizzie Jelfs is also so a big fan of Viridine, labelling him the best of the day from the parade. “He is a really well balanced poised colt that always carries a bit of weight in his midsection but that’s just his make up. He is deep girthed,” Jelfs said. “He has still got so much improvement in him throughout his career.” As for an improver to watch out for going forward, Jelfs singled out the Hawkes-trained galloper Firsthand who finished fast to run third behind Chalk. “He still had a lot of improvement in his coat to come. He has filled out as a horse and matured and will improve plenty from today. Look for him second up,” she said. Jelfs also suggested punters keep an eye on Savvan the next time she appears as she ran well first up despite also having plenty of improvement to come.
