Vale Mr Ian MacKintosh

Racing NSW has been informed of the passing of former jockey Mr Ian MacKintosh aged 88.

Mr MacKintosh was also a long-time hobby owner/breeder with one of his best horses being Stakes-winner Mac's Treasure, trained by Mick Hood. Ian and wife Pamela also owned a fish aquarium business at Matraville.

They tried for 10 years to land a metropolitan winner and it arrived in the shape of Scot's Treasure who scored by six lengths at Canterbury for trainer Darby Armstrong.

Mr MacKintosh is survived by wife Pamela, children Corinne and Stephen, grandsons Gavin and Scott, and he was father-in-law to Michelle and Mick.
