Update - Egg Tart's Eye Irritation

Racing NSW Veterinarian Dr Tania Selig today at 12:30pm inspected the near side eye of Egg Tart in the presence of Racing NSW Stewards to ascertain the mare’s suitability to start in the TAB Epsom Handicap on Saturday.

Dr Selig confirmed the eye still had a painful irritation but had appeared to have slightly improved compared to reports provided by Racing NSW Senior Official Veterinarian Dr Craig Suann. However she declared the condition would require further improvement before Egg Tart would be able to start on Saturday.

Advice received from stable veterinarian Dr Ross Alexander also confirmed that the irritation had slightly improved.

Dr Suann will inspect Egg Tart tomorrow morning to gauge if there is any improvement with the eye and a final decision as to whether the mare takes her place in the Epsom Handicap will be made during a final inspection on Friday afternoon.
