Sydney Cup Raised To A Maximum 56kg Topweight

Please note Racing NSW has made the following decision regarding the top-weighted horse in the 2019 Group 1 Schweppes Sydney Cup (3200m) run at Royal Randwick on Saturday, 13 April 2019.

Having assessed the possible field and taking into consideration all relevant factors, the 2019 Group 1 Sydney Cup will be raised to a maximum topweight of 56kg.

The above decision was made in accordance with the Australian Rule of Racing below:

(3) A Principal Racing Authority may, in its sole and absolute discretion, provide an exemption from subrule (2) for Group 1 handicap races.
