Racing NSW Stewards yesterday issued charges against former Managing Director of Godolphin Australia, Mr Henry Plumptre, and Licensed Trainer, Mr John O’Shea, relative to an inquiry conducted on Tuesday, 27 June 2017, regarding the racehorse Polemic being infected with strangles in August 2016.
Mr Plumptre 1. Issued with one charge under AR64K(2) for not reporting to Racing NSW as soon as possible that Polemic was confirmed as being infected with strangles from on or about 5 August 2016.
Mr O’Shea 1. Issued with one charge under AR175(l) for being a party to Mr Plumptre committing a breach of AR64K(2) for not reporting to Racing NSW as soon as possible that Polemic was confirmed as being infected with strangles from on or about 4 August 2016.
2. Issued with one charge under AR175(g) of providing false and/or misleading evidence at a Stewards interview on 16 June 2017 and a Stewards Inquiry on 27 June 2017.
The hearing of the charges has been scheduled to be conducted at the offices of Racing NSW (Level 11, 51 Druitt Street, Sydney) commencing at 10:30am on Friday, 4 August 2017.
