Stewards Invoke Level 1 Hot Weather Policy For Cowra (Sunday)

With the temperature predicted to reach at least 37 degrees at Cowra races on Sunday (8th January), Racing NSW Stewards have enacted Level 1 of the Racing NSW Hot Weather Policy for this race meeting.

In accordance with Level 1 of the policy, the following protocols (among others) have been put in place for Sunday:-

• Shortened pre and post-race parades; • Race club officials to have ice, water, scrapers and extra hoses available • Race club staff to provide large bins at the hose bays and ensure these are continually stocked with bags of ice and water to assist in the cooling of horses; • Horses arriving later at the barriers; and • Additional veterinary staff rostered to officiate at the meeting.
