Stewards Have Disqualified Registered Owner Jason Love

On Wednesday, 8 October 2025, registered owner Mr Jason Love was in attendance at the scheduled Kensington Track race meeting at Randwick Racecourse.

Mr Love has an owner’s share in Sydney Bowler trained by licensed co-trainers Mr John O’Shea and Mr Tom Charlton.  Sydney Bowler was engaged to take part in Race 8 (Ranvert Handicap) at 5:40pm.

Following the running of Race 8, Mr Love approached Mr Tom Charlton who was standing at the commencement of the tunnel with other owners conducting a post-race debrief. Mr Love in an aggressive manner directed improper, threatening and insulting language towards Mr Charlton.

Mr Love continued his tirade of abuse and while pointing his finger in the face of Mr Charlton stated words to the effect of, “You will be next, keep smiling”.

The alleged incident occurred in an open area, visible and within audible range of other parties which included jockeys, trainers and members of the public.

Racing NSW Investigators commenced an investigation, conducted interviews with witnesses and obtained relevant closed circuit television footage (CCTV).

On 11 October 2025, as a result of the investigation, Stewards issued one (1) charge under AR228(b) against Mr Jason Love.

On 20 October 2025, Racing NSW Stewards conducted a hearing and determination of charges issued against Mr Love.

A brief of evidence compiled by Racing NSW Investigator Ben Lavorato including CCTV footage was tendered and oral evidence was taken from Mr Love.
