Royal Randwick Dressed To Impress This Saturday

The Sydney Spring Carnival’s most glamorous day of racing, Moët & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day will be held at Royal Randwick this Saturday, 7 October. Both style and entertainment will come together as the day welcomes the return of The Fashion Chute presented by Vogue. The competition will carry a total prize pool valued at over $25,000 including; two fully flexible return flights from Sydney to any one of Emirates 39 destinations, a Longines timepiece and a one hour styling session with a Vogue Australia or GQ Australia stylist in Sydney. The judging panel made up of ATC representative Carissa Walford, Vogue Editor-in-Chief Edwina McCann, milliner Nerida Winter and Toni&Guy ambassador Roxy Jacenko will select their top fashionistas and fashion-misters to parade their outfits on the main stage where the winner will be announced. The who’s who of the Sydney social scene will be at the Moët & Chandon VIP event including Moët & Chandon ambassador Jesinta Franklin, high jumper and model Amy Pejkovic, TripleM host Emma Freedman and socialite Anna Heinrich. Trackside there will be complimentary makeup touch-ups by hayu., a dry bar by Toni&Guy and the SHIEKE lounge, all on the Octagonal Lawn to keep racegoers looking fresh throughout the day. While on course, patrons will have the chance to enter into the ‘Race In The Everest’ competition which will see five people on the day win an owners experience on TAB Everest Day. Contestants simply need to be on course and SMS a code word found in the race book and advertised on the big screen to automatically enter the competition for the chance to win a share in a prize pool of up to $120,000. On the track, the Group 1 feature for the day, the Group 1 $500,000 Moët & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes has David Payne-trained Ace High as the $3.40 TAB Fixed Odds favourite in an open market. The last start winner led all the way in the Group 3 Gloaming Stakes at Rosehill Gardens on 23 September and will step up to the 2000m distance for the first time this run. Similarly, Sanctioned ($4.40 TAB Fixed Odds) trained by James Cummings, who finished second to Ace High in the Gloaming Stakes will also run over 2000m for the first time in his short five start career. Punters can again purchase the $49 Punters Pack which is available for pre-purchase at theRaces.com.au. Representing more than $100 in value, the Punters Pack includes entry, two standard drinks, food pack and a race book. All valid pre-purchased tickets and ATC Members cards include travel on Sydney train, ferry and bus services to ensure a hassle free arrival and departure from Royal Randwick. Gates Open at 11.00am with the first race at 12.30pm. Free car parking is available at the racecourse and buses will run between Eddy Avenue at Central Station and Royal Randwick racecourse.
