Redzel Stakes Bonuses Have Been Announced

Competitors in The Everest or Sydney Stakes are eligible for a further possible $1.3 million in bonuses in Redzel Stakes, bringing total prizemoney for Redzel Stakes to $2.3 million

Horses running in the $1 million Redzel Stakes over 1300m on Saturday 2 November and either The Everest and Sydney Stakes on 19 October 2019 will be eligible for bonuses of up to $1.3 million, Racing NSW announced today.

The highlight of the bonus structure is that a bonus of $1 million will be paid to the connections of The Everest winner.

However, even if unplaced in either the Sydney Stakes or The Everest and win the Redzel Stakes a bonus of $750,000 for first, $200,000 for second and $100,000 for third will be paid in addition to the $1 million prizemoney of the race.

Redzel Stakes Bonus
To be eligible for the Redzel Stakes bonus, runners must have contested either The Everest or Sydney Stakes, both run over 1200m at Royal Randwick on Saturday 19 October 2019.

The bonuses payable to eligible runners in the Redzel Stakes and prizemoney are summarised below:

“This bonus is a great incentive for Everest horses and also increases the sprinting riches open to horses racing through the Sydney Stakes on Everest Day” Mr Balding added.“The Redzel Stakes has been another important step in building the Everest Carnival and the bonus is another reason for sprinters to race in Sydney during Spring” said Racing NSW Chairman Mr Russell Balding AO.

 The $1 million Hunter
As previously announced, the inaugural running of the $1 million Hunter over 1300m takes place at Newcastle Racecourse on Saturday 16 November 2019.

“This is the first time a $1 million race will be run in NSW outside of Sydney and this race presents an ideal progression for horses that ran in The Everest or Sydney Stakes on 19 October 2019 and the Redzel Stakes on 2 November 2019” Mr Balding concluded.
