A total of 79 nominations has been weighed for the Group 1-Asahi Super Dry The Metropolitan (2400m) to be staged at Royal Randwick on Saturday, 4th October 2025.

This year’s edition will be run with a 50kg minimum weight and has a total prizemoney purse of $750,000.
Vauban (Fr) has been allocated the topweight in the race with 58.5kg, being the winner of the 2025 Group 3-Sky High Stakes, as well as running 3rd in the WFA Group 1-Tancred Stakes (2400m) behind Dubai Honour at Rosehill Gardens.
Next in the weights with 58kg is Arapaho (Fr) who has an excellent record over the staying distances.
He is the winner of the 2025 Group 1-Sydney Cup (3200m) at Royal Randwick and the 2023 Group 1-Tancred Stakes at Rosehill.
Other notable nominations include lightly raced five-year-old Sir Delius (GB) who will be asked to carry 57kg. He brings exceptional international form finishing 3rd in the 2024 Group 1-3YO Grand Prix De Paris behind Sosie (Ire) at Longchamp.
Alalcance (GB) and Anisette (GB) are equal highest rated mares who will both be asked to carry 55kg.
