Punter's Intelligence Wrap - Randwick 10th August

Group racing returned at Royal Randwick on Saturday, and improving galloper Schwarz took out the feature Missile Stakes (1200m).

The race was run at a fast pace with leader Much Much Better, clocking 34.95 his first 600m, approximately 5.5 lengths faster than the F&M Benchmark over 1200m and 7.5 lengths quicker than the CG&E Benchmark 78 (1200m).

Schwarz's effort was full of merit. After sitting three wide out on a limb throughout, he covered 1208m and still sprinted a sharp 11.01 between 400m and 200m.

The gelding kept responding under pressure to hold off the late challengers, and his effort first-up with factors against was extremely brave.

Arctic Glamour was the flashing light run, and although slightly outpaced, she built momentum and hit the line hard.

Her final 600m in 33.60 was approximately three lengths faster than the race's next best. She will only improve over more ground.

Shezanalister looked as if she was going to bust through and be in the finish after running 10.97 between the 400m-200m whilst in the inferior ground but peaked on her effort late.

Zarrose made it back-to-back wins in the Benchmark 72 assignment over 1400m, and she has returned improved this preparation.

She was unsuited to the race shape, had to make a long-sustained run, and the clock backed up her late visual strength.

The mare recorded the meeting's fastest final 400m/200m splits in 22.02/11.32. She can step again over more ground.

Our Kobison started the shortest-priced favourite across the meeting, and he always looked in control when winning the Benchmark 88 event (1000m).

James McDonald found cover, and although the five-year-old travelled slightly keen throughout, he ripped clear between the 400m-200m, running the race's quickest 400m-200m split in a slick 10.53.

Sebonack got too far back but hit the line hard and ran 32.72 for his final 600m.

Tulsi was an eye-catching run in the F&M Benchmark 78 over 1200m, and she is one to follow with confidence.

The NZ import was making her Australian debut, and she built through her gears well in a high-pressure race.

She ran a sharp 600m-200m split in 22.09 before being run over late. The four-year-old was only first-up, and she profiles to improve over more ground.

Willaidow was suited but was the only leader all day to win in the final event over 1200m.

He ran a strong 400m/200m in 22.69/11.66 and won easily on the line.

Sir Artie was another runner who ran fast closing sectionals and ran the race fastest final 200m in 11.57.

Fastest last 600m: Our Kobison 32.69
