Outcome Of Appeal - Tess Wilkes

Tess Wilkes
Licensed Trainer Tess Wilkes lodged an appeal against penalty after being found guilty by the Stewards under AR175(h)(ii). Following a Steward’s inquiry on Tuesday 6 February 2018, Ms Wilkes was fined $5,000. This followed the detection of a prohibited substance in a post-race sample from Prince Coureuse after the horse placed 1st in Race 5, (Benchmark 46 Handicap 1420m) at Taree Racecourse on 7 November 2017. This appeal was heard on Monday 16, April 2018 commencing at 12.00pm.

The panel gave the following orders:
1. Appeal against severity of penalty dismissed
2. Penalty of $5000 for breach of AR175(h)(ii) confirmed
3. Appeal deposit forfeited
