Outcome Of Appeal – Joshua Parr (Racing NSW Appeal Panel)

Joshua Parr – Before the Racing NSW Appeal Panel

Licensed jockey Joshua Parr lodged an appeal against conviction and penalty after being found guilty by Racing NSW Stewards under AR137(a) after his ride on Napoleon Solo in Race 1 (2019 Membership Open Now Plate, 1300m) at Warwick Farm Racecourse on Wednesday, 24 October 2018.

Following a Stewards inquiry on this date, Mr Parr was suspended for a period commencing Saturday, 3rd November 2018 and to expire on Sunday,11th November 2018 on which day he may ride.

The appeal was heard on Friday 2nd November 2018 by the Racing NSW Appeal Panel presided by Mr R. Beasley SC at the offices of Racing NSW commencing at 12pm.

The Panel gave the following orders:
1. Appeal against finding of breach of AR137(a) allowed.
2. Finding of breach of AR137(a) set aside.
3. Penalty of 4 meeting suspension set aside.
4. Appeal deposit to be refunded.
