Outcome Of Appeal – Blake Shinn (28 September 2017)

Blake Shinn Licensed jockey Blake Shinn lodged an appeal against conviction and penalty after being found guilty by Racing NSW Stewards under AR137(a) after his ride on Pariah in Race 7 (De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose-Group 1, 1400m) at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, 23 September 2017.

Mr Shinn was suspended for a period commencing Monday, 2 October 2017 and to expire on Friday, 20 October 2017 on which day he may ride. This appeal was heard on Thursday, 28 September 2017 commencing at 9:30am at the offices of Racing NSW.

The panel gave the following orders: 1. Appeal against finding of guilt upheld. 2. Finding of guilt for breach of AR137(a) set aside 3. Penalty of a 10-race suspension set aside 4. Appeal deposit to be refunded
