Oceans Of Opportunity For Trainers At Goulburn

Goulburn District Race Club has given trainers another 2000 reasons to 'cruise' to the tablelands track throughout November in the lead-up to the Goulburn Cup meeting on November 26.

The newly-announced November Cruise Series gives trainers a chance to win a Luxury Cruise with P&O Australia for two people just by having a runner at any of Goulburn’s three November meetings. The cruise is valued at over $2000 and is a joint initiative of Goulburn District Race Club and its corporate partner and local business, The Gordon Hotel.

Goulburn District Race Club will race on November 5, 11 and 26, offering trainers oceans of opportunity to take home prizemoney or even win the club’s initial Cruise Series. The month culminates with the showcase Goulburn Cup meeting on Sunday 26 November.

The Cruise Series is open to trainers throughout NSW (and Australia) and is something the club’s CEO Robyn Fife is excited to be offering trainers for the first time.

“Our Cruise Series of racing further bolsters what is already a huge month of racing throughout November for Goulburn Race Club," Ms Fife said. “Horses can run in any class of race to qualify their stable for the main prize which will be drawn at the end of the month.

“We have over $690,000 in prizemoney on offer across three race meetings for the month and the Cruise Series incentive further strengthens our offering to trainers both locally and throughout NSW.

“The JCF Contracting Goulburn Cup is worth $150,000 for the first time this year and our main support race, the Guy Walter fillies and mares event, offers winning connections a stallion service courtesy of Spendthrift Stud Australia.

“When you combine all that with the Cruise Series initiative it makes for an exciting month of racing that’s fast approaching.”

Highlights of the racing program on offer at Goulburn throughout November include:-

Sunday 5 November – first opportunity for trainers to qualify in the Cruise Series, initial running of the Graeme Spackman Memorial • Saturday 11 November – Girls Day Out with Tash Burleigh Racing sponsoring the 'Hooves, Heels & Hats Fashions on the Field' • Sunday 26 November – Goulburn Cup Day featuring the $150,000 JCF Contracting Goulburn Cup and a total of $395,000 in prizemoney on offer, final opportunity for trainers & horses to enter the Cruise Series promotion, heat 4 of the SERA Fashions on the Field.
