Neil Evans' Tips For Beaumont Newcastle (Monday)

By Neil Evans

Track Good 4 and rail out 2m:

Race 1 - 1:50PM CANCER COUNCIL STARS OF NEWCASTLE MAIDEN (1350 METRES)

3. Rainbow Blessing is a progressive filly, and the one to beat third-up, significantly with blinkers going on. Found the line well in a better maiden at Scone a fortnight ago, and from this economical draw has the opposition at her mercy. 1. Supreme Statement will appreciate a drop back to provincial level after feeling the pressure in a metropolitan maiden three weeks ago, and gear changes are in play. Gap to the rest headed by 5. Fashion Spree who gets blinkers added for her fourth start.

How to play it: Rainbow Blessing to win

Race 2 - 2:25PM A-PLUS CONTRACTING & POLY WELDING MAIDEN PLATE (1150 METRES)

9. Ho Aloha is an improving metro filly well placed fifth-up in an open maiden with plenty of chances. Closed off okay from well back in metro company before settling much closer and sticking on well at Kembla. Couldn’t be any fitter, and draws to get a nice trail just behind the speed. Scratched from Kembla on Saturday to be saved for this. 6. Newy is well-named and also well suited resuming as a gelding off two trials for the leading provincial stable. 4. Federal Reserve is also first-up and must be kept safe behind two trials. 7. Bifurcation is a natural improver after an even debut effort at Hawkesbury; while 12. Snowslide is a filly by Headwater, and market watch on debut for the Matthew Smith yard off two improving city trials.

Race 3 - 3:05PM NEWCASTLE BMW & MINI CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1150 METRES)

6. Zocketman is a smart metro-based colt returning for only his second start after ripping home from the back to win on debut at Muswellbrook. Fitted with two easy trials, and blinkers go on. 1. Eagles Beware draws to get a soft run second-up with gear changes, and can fill the quinella. 4. Jagerschnitzel has been given a month between runs and easy trial after a fighting maiden win at Dubbo. Locally-trained 2. Iron Fury resumes with gear changes behind two forward trials. Big gap to the rest.

How to play it: Zocketman to win

Race 4 - 3:40PM NZB READY TO RUN 12 & 13 NOV CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1350 METRES)

5. Ocean Chill is a progressive mare from the Annabel and Rob Archibald stable who can go right on with it after being backed from $4.00 into $3.30, and leading all the way on debut at Scone. Ran a comparable final 600m with winners from shorter trips that day. Reportedly trained on well, and is drawn to dictate again. 7. Rose Water is trained on the track, and another improver after chasing hard first-up in BM 58 grade behind a dominant winner. 2. Santatime is a threat second-up from a soft trailing draw after charging home first-up at Port Macquarie. 6. Tulipwood is a talented mare and stablemate of the top selection resuming off two improving trials for her first outing since mid May. 4. Brutal Elegance fourth-up can add value into trifecta and first fours.

Race 5 - 4:20PM THE ADVISER COLLECTIVE BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

2. Invincible Whip is primed to recapture his best third-up off a long break in a moderate race. Has finished off okay in two runs back at Port when well in the market, and both the extra furlong and jockey change are big plusses. 8. Yes Yes Boss is over the odds fourth-up after digging in late for a narrow maiden win at Muswellbrook. 4. Jagerschnitzel has been freshened up via an easy trial since a tough maiden win at Dubbo a month back, but draws wide and also been accepted for an earlier race. 1. Ensign Parker coming back from a stronger Class 3, and 9. Stiorra deep into her prep; can both figure in the minor money.

How to play it: Invincible Whip to win

Race 6 - 4:55PM HUNGERFORD HILL WINE COUNTRY CUP (2100 METRES)

2. Subarctic is a tough metro gelding ready to peak third-up over significantly more ground. Has worked home late from a mile back in two deeper races up to 1500m, and looks fairly treated at the weights in a race of less depth over a journey he will relish. 3. Surreal I Am has been in and around the money this campaign over middle distances, and while a leading jockey takes over here, some query pushed out to this longer trip. 4. Heir Jordan is an honest toiler who likes to settle back and hit the line, and finds a thinner race fourth-up. 5. Rhinestone Lad improved sharply over a longer journey fourth-up, and continues to sneak down in the weights.

How to play it: Subarctic to win

Race 7 - 5:30PM THE PRINCE OF MEREWETHER BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP (1350 METRES)

1. Southerly Buster is a lightly raced and capable four-year-old resuming for a second campaign. Won two straight in dominant fashion to cap his initial prep before spelling, and love the trial where he drifted back very wide, yet still found the line under a nice hold. Draws to get plenty of cover early in the race. 2. Trapeze Legend is another one lightly raced who can run a big race fresh off a long break, and coming through the same Scone trial as the on top selection. 8. Ready And Lucky will relish the class drop after two mixed efforts in Saturday Highway company. 6. Zoomorphic is a stablemate of the top selection who can improve sharply second-up from the inside draw. 3. Forbidden Riff off a six week freshen-up and quiet trial heads the rest.

How to play it: Southerly Buster to win
