Moruya & Mitre 10 Helping To 'Rein In The Blues'

This Sunday (15th October) Moruya Jockey Club and Mitre 10 will join forces for a mental health fundraising day in support of Mitre 10’s major charity Beyond Blue. Themed 'Rein in the Blues Raceday' the seven-race card will be complemented by a range of fundraising activities. In recognition of the sponsors and charity there will be joint themes of Blue and Tradies with patrons encouraged to join in by dressing accordingly. The Fashions on the Field event will be Moruya’s biggest to date, with Birdsnest Fashions donating $1500 of vouchers for the ladies and CAT Clothing looking after the guys to the value of $500. There will also be special prizes for the best dressed in Blue or Tradies gear. A raffle will be held on the day with over $3,500 worth of prizes donated by companies such as Bosch, Makita, Nescafe, 888 Work Benches and De Walt tools. However, the most sought-after prize will be a framed print of the great mare Winx featuring Chris Waller and Hugh Bowman and provided by Bradley Photographers. It will be round out a great weekend of racing for the district following Rosaruby and Fell Swoop representing Moruya at Randwick on Saturday in the Highway Anniversary and The TAB Everest. Fell Swoop recently moved to Moruya as part of the Matthew Dale satellite stable while Rosaruby, who was originally trained in Moruya, remains in Moruya ownership.
