Longines Golden Slipper Contenders Sparkle In Silver

The road to the 2018 Longines Golden Slipper will continue this Saturday, 24 February with TAB Silver Slipper Stakes Day at Rosehill Gardens.

Promotional staff will be on course for patrons to enter the ‘What’s Your #Slippe-Style?’ competition which will see one winner have their ideal Longines Golden Slipper Day style made a reality to the value of $10,000. Entrants simply need to answer in 25 words or less how they would best like to experience Longines Golden Slipper Day at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday 24 March.

Guests are also able to have their picture taken with the Longines Golden Slipper trophy on Saturday, which will be on display at the Railway Forecourt between 1.30pm and 4.00pm.

However all eyes will be on the greatly anticipated Group 2 $250,000 TAB Silver Slipper Stakes which will set the stage for the Longines Golden Slipper, the world’s richest race for two-year- olds, with the winner securing ballot exemption into the $3.5million sprint.

Current Longines Golden Slipper favourite Sunlight ($2.80 TAB Fixed Odds) has opened at the top of the betting in the TAB Silver Slipper. The Zoustar filly has been dominant in her last three starts including a 2 length win in the 2YO Magic Millions Classic on 13 January.

Two Group 2 events will also be on the nine race card – the $400,000 Chandon S Chic Easy Hobartville Stakes and the $200,000 Vinery Stud Millie Fox Stakes.

Market odds for the full program on Saturday are available here.

Racegoers can pre-purchase the $39 Punters Pack at theATC.com.au.

The Punters Pack includes entry, two standard drinks, a food pack, reserved seating in the grandstand, a racebook and access to the Punters Pack area within the Chantilly Bar.

The Rosehill Gardens track was rated a Good 4 on Thursday morning.
