Limbo Soul Lands Rosehill Plonk

By Brad Gray

Tim Martin-trained two-year-old Limbo Soul was sensationally backed before romping home at Rosehill on debut in the So You Think @ Coolmore Maiden Handicap (1100m).

Limbo Soul opened $26 when TAB markets first went up on Monday afternoon before trimming into a low of $3.10 right before jump. Adam Hyeronimus took the filly straight to the front and she never looked like losing. In the process she broke Omei Sword's class record.

Limbo Soul recorded a 3.3L victory

The daughter of I Am Invincible was only sighted once at the trials when fourth behind Godolphin’s Tiki Bar. She was on the bridle through the line in that Rosehill hitout back in late January.

“Impressive filly,” said Martin’s racing manager Justin Webb.

“Tim has always had a nice opinion of her and its good to see her race like that today, particularly this time of year.

“It did look a good race. A bit of depth in there. She is a quality filly and Tim has some high hopes this autumn for her.”

TAB immediately reacted by trimming her Golden Slipper price from $101 to $26.
