Ladies Day At Hawkesbury Combines Glamour With Quality Racing

An explosion of festivities, glamour and fashion send Spring Racing into overdrive, and Hawkesbury Race Club will again host their feature Ladies Day meeting this Thursday, to continue the celebrations of Melbourne Cup week.

Run to coincide with the VRC Oaks meeting at Flemington, Ladies Day brings the colour of the carnival to the Hawkesbury, on one of their biggest race days of the year.

Given the impressive depth of Fashions on the Field contests across the Spring Racing carnival, this year’s competition will focus on both Contemporary visions and Classic Style, with the two categories offering an enviable prize haul of over $10,000; including a holiday to Hamilton Island, Helloworld Richmond travel Vouchers and David Jones shopping sprees.

The highlight will be the Lawn Marquee, hosting the most forward fashionistas in style with live music, pop up bars, canapes and front row access to both the action on and off the track.

With the introduction of new sponsors One of Three Boutique, Amber Style and Beauty and The Beauty Room offering touch ups and promotional giveaways, even those not walking the catwalk can enjoy all on offer in the fashion and beauty world.

Style and sophistication aren’t just for the Ladies, and the guys can enjoy the on course entertainment with a range of delicious dining options and a solid eight race program to test their punting skills.

Hot on the back of  the success of The Everest and the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday, the traditional limelight of Spring Racing ensures that Hawkesbury’s Listed Lander Toyota Ladies Day Cup will be right amongst the big week of Spring features.

Hawkesbury Race Club Chief Executive, Greg Rudolph, was buoyed by the quality of the Cup field.

“ We have our 2017 Hawkesbury Gold Cup winner, Fabrizio, back at what looks to be an ideal race and Interlocuter from the all-conquering Godolphin team, back fresh from a Melbourne preparation,” Rudolph said.

Even Hawkesbury’s meeting has received another boost, with the inaugural running of the $50,000 Ted McCabe memorial as part of the Sky Racing Provincial Series, with the Listed Lander Toyota Ladies Day Cup also boasting a $150,000 purse.

With deep-rooted traditions mixing with the unique blend of style of Racing in 2018, Ladies Day at Hawkesbury Race Club promises a day of lunching, entertainment, fashion and fabulous racing.
