Jockey Quotes - JHB Carr Stakes

It was a tight finish but the honest Moss Trip managed to stick her head out in time to post a Group win over the well backed Dyslexic.

Find out what the jockeys made of their horses’ runs in the Group 3 JHB Carr Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick.

Kerrin McEvoy (Moss Trip): “She missed the start. She laid back in the gates which was shy she began so slowly. I knew they were running along. Far out she let down, showed a good turn of foot. She’s performed very well.”

Brenton Avdulla (Dyslexic): “I thought I’d won it both sides of the post.”

Jason Collett (Frolic): “She finished off well again but she’s giving them too big a start.”

Hugh Bowman (Banish): “She ran well. She needs to be ridden a bit closer but couldn’t do much from the outside barrier.”

Mark Zahra (One More Honey): “Ran well.”

Blake Shinn (So Far Sokool): “Good run. Just overraced a bit early and that probably cost her.”

Tim Clark (Problem Solver): “I don’t think that she ran the 1400m out strongly.”

Michael Walker (Joyfilly Ours): “She was hanging.”

Corey Brown (Ridicule): “I think she may be looking for the paddock. Raced a bit flat.”

Peter Wells (Lisdoonvarna): “Honest but the gate beat us today.”

Andrew Adkins (Sweet Deal): “Raced well. No luck.”

Christian Reith (Readycatgo): “Disappointing.”
