Jockey Quotes - Furious Stakes

Pure Elation burst through on the fence to take out the G2 Furious Stakes (1200m) for Michael Walker and the Snowden stable.

Michael Walker (Pure Elation): To be honest I nearly mucked it up, I just gave her a squeeze before the corner and I should have known then she goes from ‘nought to one hundred’ in a stride and she ran up behind them and I was like Oh my gawd!”

“I then went back to the inside and I knew she was always going to win.I think if we can keep her right I reckon a Coolmore down the straight would be a good race.”

Pure Elation back with a bang

Tim Clark (Oohood): “Perfect run. Probably looking for a bit further now.”

Hugh Bowman (Fiesta): “Superb effort, come back really well.”

James McDonald (Outback Barbie): “Great.”

Corey Brown (Fundamentalist): “She had no luck, she was posted.”

Christian Reith (Meryl): “She just puffed out the last little bit. Really happy with her.”

Tye Angland (Pretty In Pink): “Really good run. Nice filly on the way up.”

Rachel King (Cristobal): “Just nothing really went her way.”

Josh Parr (Sweet Ava): “Only even late.”

Tommy Berry (Let Me Sleep On It): “Her quality shone through late, she’s just not up to them.”

Kerrin McEvoy (Miss Fabulass): “We put her in the race and I was expecting a nice finish at the top of the rise. Might have just levelled out a bit suggesting she might be best ridden a little quieter. 1400m will suit and also softer in the ground.”

Jay Ford (Unguarded): “She’s run very well as a maiden. She can drop back to a maiden and be hard to beat.”
