Jockey Quotes - Frank Packer Plate

Higher Ground got the narrow verdict over stablemate Tangled in the $200,000 G3 IGA Liquor Frank Packer Plate (2000m) in a driving finish.

Here is what the beaten jockeys had to say after the race:

Glyn Schofield (Higher Ground): “He’s had a good blow after the race, I thought when he changed his legs 100m from home he was just going to surge to the lead and run away from them, but the second horse obviously has Group One form and it’s hard to get away from those horses who have performed well at the top level.”

Higher Ground pipping Tangled

Michael Walker (Tangled): “Ran super.”

Mark Zahra (Holy Snow): “Every chance.”

Christian Reith (Dissolution): “At 2000m, probably just needed to take the shades off him if they are going to run him over that trip again.”

Kerrin McEvoy (Temprado): “Ran well.”

Hugh Bowman (Icon Of Dubai): “Good run.”

Blake Shinn (Primitivo): “The horse ran well. He does make hard work of it for you. I think the addition of blinkers will make a significant difference for him.”

Josh Parr (Godunov): “Disappointing, maybe at the end of his prep now.”

Jason Collett (Savvy Ken): “Better run. Stuck on but copped a tighten late.”
