Jean Van Overmeire (Sonofdec) “Coming out of the gate, he was in there for a while so he probably just stepped a bit slow, but he was quick to muster after that.

“You could see there was no real speed in that first quarter of the race, so I wanted to be a bit more positive than negative, just purely because I didn't think there was much speed.

“So it landed us in the prime spot, and obviously, the way the track's playing, they were always going to roll along, so was always going to give us the opportunity to slide up the fence and then come off, so it worked out really nice.

“For guys like Jay (Hopkins) it's a great initiative and I appreciate Jay for calling up and asking us if we wanted the ride. Nice win.”

Sonofdec wins the Four Pillars

William Stanley (Meridiana): “Really happy with the run. A bit unlucky top of the straight.”

Winona Costin (Philipsburg): “Great run. Just got back and tracked through. Was strong late.”

Ethan Brown (Apollo Mission): “Conditions didn’t suit. He couldn’t sustain his sprint on this ground with 62kg.”

Zac Lloyd (Broadway Bouncer): “Tried hard. Just the 1500m on the wet ground saw him out late.”

Molly Bourke (Debello): “Very tough effort from him. Not his suited surface. Tried hard.”

Olivia Chambers (Prince Of Sorts): “Really happy with him. Just would have liked more from him from the 600m.”

Nash Rawiller (Jack Duggan): “Luckless. Ran alright.”

Braith Nock (Jumeirah Beach): “Probably got too far back and there was that little bit too much give in the track for a second up assignment. Didn’t get the right run either.”

Mitch Stapleford (Vetwelve): “Had no luck at the 300m. Got checked out of a run. Travelled up, just when I needed him to take those gaps he was left flat footed.”

Alysha Collett (Let's Fly): “Tough run. Horse is going well.”

Andrew Adkins (Kingston Charm): “Too wet for her.”

Tom Marquand (Mogwai): “Probably just wants a bit quicker deck. Ran great though.”

Joao Moreira (Piraeus): “Jumped out not too bad. Travelled half way through the race on the bit. Then he spit the bit half way through and couldn’t finish the race off."

Anna Roper (Monkhana): “Super run. Dipped and dived on that track a little bit but has run excellently.”

Jason Collett (Dusty Bay): “He got across easy enough. His wheels spun on the ground.”

Chad Schofield (Agita): “Distance a bit short. Track too soft.”

Tyler Schiller (Jacob's Ladder): “Unlucky from the draw. Got stuck wide. I thought he did a good job to stick but is better with cover.”
