Jockey Quotes - Doncaster Prelude

A treble for jockey James McDonald in successive races as Mister Sea Wolf won his way into next week's Doncaster Mile.

Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 3 PFD Food Services Doncaster Prelude (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens.

James McDonald (Mister Sea Wolf): “Really good win. Great training effort, first up at 1500m. He loves that give in the ground and he’ll only improve off that. It was a great performance and I’m looking forward to seeing where he progresses.

“He came out with a wing and every hoof and put himself in a great position. Probably went a little bit early but I was lucky enough to get away with it.”

Corey Brown (Abdon): “He ran really well. He was a fraction slow away and then he had quite a blunder when he came on to the course proper. Had I been a pair closer then it would have definitely made a difference.”

Blake Shinn (Tom Melbourne): “He ran a good, honest race.”

Tim Clark (Siege Of Quebec): “He ran well. He knocked up the last little bit and he’ll improve on that run.”

Brenton Avdulla (My Nordic Hero): “He ran well. I think up in distance next start he will be very competitive.”

Sam Clipperton (Mask Of Time): “Good run. There was a soft patch at about the 400m which cost him momentum. It didn’t cost him the win but it definitely cost him a couple of lengths.”

Kerrin McEvoy (Kaonic): “He struggled in the ground.”

Jason Collett (Invictus Prince): “He was up to his usual tricks again. It wasn’t a bad run considering (missing the start).

Damian Lane (Grey Lion): “He ran well.”
