Interstate Stewards Extracts - Randwick - Saturday

Race 1 Number 5 – Shogun Sun - Slow to begin. Checked from heels passing the 800m and as a result shifted wider on the track and raced wide without cover from that point onwards. (Sunshine Coast 15/7/17)

Race 3 Number 9 – Abohar - Overraced in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the straight. The veterinary surgeon reported that the mare had a laceration to the nearside nostril post-race. (Doomben 8/7/17)

Race 6 Number 5 – Eximius - Rider reported that he had not been the intention to settle so far back however after travelling a short distance it was evident he would have to restrain to obtain a position with cover which he felt with the prevailing wind conditions was a significant advantage. (Flemington 22/7/17)

Race 7 Number 2 – Jungle Edge - When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, jockey advised the horse did not appreciate the firm track today and, in his view, has come to the end of its preparation. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. (Doomben 10/6/17)

Race 9 Number 1 – Lord Von Costa - Held up from the 500m and was the disappointed for a run approaching the 200m and then gained a clear run passing the 200m. (Flemington 22/7/17)

Race 9 Number 7 – Denarius - Got its off hind leg up on the barrier partition, examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start. Hampered shortly after the start. (Doomben 22/7/17)
