Newcastle’s master trainer Paul Perry has trained 19 winners already this season and he is confident of increasing that tally at Saturday's Newcastle race meeting.

Fresh from success in the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude last Sunday with Perast, Perry has a runner in all eight Newcastle races. They are in race order – Restless ($6), Nothing Too Hard ($3.40), Titus ($51), Surjin ($6), Soolaimon ($26), Flying Rose ($4.40), Final Frontier ($3.40) and San Francisco ($6).

The Newcastle Hall of Famer said on Friday that Final Frontier, Nothing Too Hard, Surjin, Flying Rose, San Francisco and Restless all had winning chances.

“Final Frontier is probably my best chance as he has speed and is drawn nicely. This horse has very good form with three recent close placings in strong fields. He went a bit too hard last start.

"Nothing Too Hard is the only Maiden in the staying race but with 54 kilograms on his back he will run well. He is crying out for this trip and his last start third on this track was full of merit.

"I have a good opinion of Surjin and he won easily over the 1400 on this track last start. He will love the step up to 1600. Flying Rose was narrowly beaten in her first start three weeks back and she has done well since. She has a big weight but the extra 200 metres will suit her.

"San Francisco is flying with two tough wins recently and the 1400 is ideal. He has a very good chance. Restless couldn’t keep up when a distant third over the 1100 at Port Macquarie last start but he will be a different proposition over 1400,” Perry said.

Wyong three-year-old Perfect Style is set to atone for a costly last start defeat when he resumes in the 900 metre Maiden Plate. The gelding was backed from $2.30 to $1.65 at Cessnock on July 17 when he shared the lead before going down by less than a length.

Perfect Style has stepped out in two recent barrier trials at Gosford and on the Beaumont Track where and won them by four and nine lengths respectively. He has blistering speed and he will give his opponents something to chase.

Godolphin’s trainer James Cummings will send three gallopers to Newcastle on Saturday and the trio will be well fancied. Speedway runs in the 1600 metre Class 1, Thrilled in the 1200 metre Maiden and Organza in the 1400 Maiden Plate.

Speedway won a Wyong Maiden by 4½ lengths before two placings at Kembla. Thrilled hasn’t raced since a Kembla placing in June but she trialled nicely recently. Organza was narrowly beaten on this track in May and she can improve on a disappointing performance at Kembla first-up.
