Ill NSW Jockey Report (Latest Update - Courtney Van Der Werf)

Racing NSW Steward, Damien Carr, has reported that following the final race at Cessnock today, jockey Courtney Van Der Werf returned to the jockeys room feeling ill and short of breath.

Courtney is being transported to hospital for further treatment with her partner, Travis Wolfgram, in attendance.

Update at 7:30pm on Tuesday 1 August: Courtney's partner Travis Wolfgram has confirmed that Courtney has been diagnosed with bronchitis, causing her to be short of breath after riding at Cessnock today. Travis said that Courtney is expected to be discharged from hospital this evening and will be placed on antibiotics.
