Hugh Bowman The Star Attraction At Grafton Luncheon

Clarence River Jockey Club has announced champion Sydney jockey Hugh Bowman will be one of two guest speakers at its Barrier Draw Luncheon to be held at Grafton Racecourse on Monday 10th July.

Bowman will join former international jockey, trainer and current Sydney-based trainer Gary Moore at the microphone.

The ticket-only event is one of the social highlights of the Grafton Carnival and commences at 11am where the barrier draw for both the Grafton District Services Club Ramornie Handicap (1200m) and the McKimms Real Estate Grafton Cup (2350m) will be conducted.

CRJC's Executive Officer, Michael Beattie, said: “I could not be happier with the line-up of guests we have been able to attract this year.

"Hugh Bowman has been the leading Sydney jockey for two seasons since 2012 and remains in a battle for the current Sydney Jockeys' Premiership. With one more Group 1 winner this year he will break the Australian record for the most Group 1 winners in a season.

"When you add those facts to his long and successful association with Winx he really is the man of the moment in Australian racing.

“Gary Moore, on the other hand, is known across the international racing world as a man of exceptional talent where he has experienced outstanding success in both Europe and Asia and is making his mark for the second time as a trainer in Sydney.

"I know from my time in Macau where he was the premier trainer for many years he will have some very entertaining stories to tell.”

Tickets can be purchased from the CRJC by phoning (02) 6642 2566. Visit - Clarence River Jockey Club
