Gary Harley’s Last Word – Wyong (Sunday)

By Gary Harley

Kim Waugh has accepted with her four year old Calabasas in two races at Sunday' s Wyong race meeting and the gelding will be hard to beat in whichever race he contests. Calabasas will be ridden by three kilogram claiming apprentice Jackson Murphy in either the Warren Clark Memorial Class 2 (1350m) or The Magic Millions at Wyong December 21 Benchmark 72 (1200m).

Calabasas resumed from a five month spell when beaten 2.8 lengths at Randwick on October 7. He had been impressive winning a Newcastle trial in late September and the blinkers come off on Sunday.

RACE 1, FREE GATE ENTRY AT WYONG TODAY MAIDEN 1000m: Local speedster Perfect Style has been beaten into second place when an odds on favourite in his past two starts and can atone here.
