Four Emergencies Revealed For The $10m TAB Everest

Racing NSW and the Australian Turf Club have announced the selection of four emergencies to be on stand-by for the richest race on turf in the world, the $10 million The TAB Everest to be run at Royal Randwick this Saturday (14th October). The four horses currently entered for the Sydney Stakes and ranked in racebook order are: In Her Time, Trapeze Artist, Takedown and Ball of Muscle. In the event of a scratching from the main field, slot owners will be given the chance to choose any one of the emergencies. The emergencies were selected by a joint RNSW and ATC panel after final acceptances were taken this morning for the Sydney Stakes. Should an emergency runner be required, that horse will jump from the original barrier of the withdrawn horse. Racing NSW Chief Executive, Peter V’landys AM, said: “We believe any of the four emergencies selected would be highly competitive in The TAB Everest and this further illustrates the world-class field that has been assembled for the inaugural running,” Mr V’landys said. Australian Turf Club Chief Executive, Darren Pearce, said: “The TAB Everest is set to provide a piece of racing history and we are ready to host what is certain to prove a spectacular event.” View final fields with form & replays for the Sydney Stakes and The TAB Everest here
