Jason Devrimol is celebrating his first Rising Star Series win after taking out heat 13 at Goulburn.

The young hoop guided $8 outsider Il Dominatore to victory for Warwick Farm trainer Matthew Smith.

He was quick out the gates and travelled in second position for most of the race before fending off late challenges to finish a length ahead of Hail The Chief (Andrew Adkins) and Betterthanyouthink (Nick Heywood).

The seven points earned for the ride catapulted Devrimol to equal 13th position in the series.

Despite finishing unplaced yesterday, Nyssa Burrells maintains a one point lead at the top of the table.

She will have the chance to extend it today when she rides Eye Maybe A Wina in heat 14 at Taree.

However, Andrew Adkins could snatch the lead.

He’s currently in third position in the series, just two points behind Burrells, and will be aboard short priced favourite Happy in the race today.
