The Australian Turf Club Foundation has today announced a third round of grants for community organisations around its four racecourses and parts of NSW.

A further $100,000 raised from on-course fundraising, saddle cloth auctions and sales of merchandise at major racing carnivals will be distributed through the Australian Turf Club’s charitable arm.

Australian Turf Club Foundation Chairman, Phil Morley said the latest round of grants brought to a total of more than $350,000 distributed since the ATC Foundation was established.

“We are thrilled to again see this money being distributed and getting to these great causes so quickly and in full,” Mr Morley said.

“Every dollar raised through the ATC Foundation thanks to the generosity of our customers and Members at Australian Turf Club thoroughbred meetings is directed to charitable causes.

“We look forward to continuing to call for expressions of interest from NSW racing communities and organisations across Sydney and NSW.”

The latest round of grants are:

• $20,000 Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal projects in Tamworth
• $25,000 Camp Quality
• $20,000 Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney
• $15,000 Top Blokes Foundation (Western Sydney)
• $10,000 Riding for the Disabled (NSW) Cootamundra Centre
• $10,000 Milk Crate Theatre (Randwick LGA)

The Honourable Kevin Anderson, Member for Tamworth and Minister for Better Regulation and Innovation, said: “Racing is the DNA of many communities, particularly in regional NSW, and it is fantastic that through the ATC Foundation the industry is giving back.

“I would like to congratulate and thank the ATC Foundation for its commitment to putting our local communities first and investing in projects that will make a huge difference to people’s lives.”

Natalie Egleton, CEO of Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR), said: “Local leaders and organisations play a vital role when it comes to strengthening the social and economic fabric of drought-affected communities in rural, regional and remote Australia.

“Thanks to our donor partners such as the ATC Foundation, FRRR is able keep money flowing into these drought-affected regions by supporting local groups as they continue to find innovative ways of keeping socially connected, and bolster their community’s resilience during these dry times.”
