Appeal Update – Mr Kym Healy

Licensed Strathalbyn trainer Kym Healy lodged an appeal against conviction and penalty after being found guilty by Racing NSW Stewards under AR178E(1), AR178AB(1)(a) and AR175(l).

Following a Stewards inquiry on Monday, 4 June 2018 into the circumstances requiring the late withdrawal of Aussie Jack from its engagement in the Outback Cup conducted at Broken Hill on 17 March 2018, Stewards imposed a penalty of six months disqualification in respect of offences under AR178E(1), AR178AB(1)(a), to be served concurrently, commencing on 4 June 2018 and expiring on 4 December 2018, and imposed a penalty of four months disqualification in respect of offences under AR175(l) commencing on 4 December 2018 and expiring on 4 April 2019.

This appeal is to be heard on Tuesday, 31 July 2018 at the offices of Racing NSW commencing at 9:30am.

Two applications from Mr Healy for a Stay of Proceedings have been declined by the Appeal Panel's Principal Member/Convenor.
